47 percent
An infamous term used by the 2012 Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney to describe the percentage of voters who relied too much on the government for their lives and that they would vote for Obama no matter what happened.
In hidden camera video clips posted by Mother Jones in September 2012, Romney was seen telling Florida donors that 47 percent of voters will chose Obama "no matter what" because they are people "who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax." He went to say: "My job is not to worry about those people," Romney says in the video. "I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."
In an AP released tabulation of official presidential votes from all 50 states, it turned out Romney got 47 (or 47.2 to be exact) percent of the full presidential vote.
